The building was built in 1925-1926, with innovative techniques, and initially functioned as a show room (main entrance Syggrou street) and garage (main entrance Falirou) of the mother company FIAT, for the promotion of the historic model 509. The building offered new life to the area stimulating economic growth.
From 1935, onwards the building functioned as a car service (The Garage) and car sales (The show room) space for various companies 2009. In 2017, Mariana Lyra, transformed the space and hosted her exhibition “Ρειstart”, a process which seeded a unique possibility for the space. From 2017 to 2020, the garage has hosted various artistic events slowly transforming the potential of the space.
2020 onwards the building retains most of its original architectural elements, integrating elegance and functionality which come together to create a unique atmosphere. In 2021 The Garage opens as a venue for a variety of events including leisure, entertainment and cultural activities.

WHAT KIND OF EVENTS ARE HOSTED AT PHIAT?
Phiat hosts any sort of event, whether private, or social, corporate, cultural,
artistic, community. Within PHIAT you may dance, speak, play,
share, experiment, celebrate, think, wonder, But you cannot COOK or SELL
FOOD or DRINK. At PHIAT you may only offer food and drink as a buffet
(include the price upon the entrance ticket).

PHIAT supports and is supported by community. It is important to keep to the
quiet hours, and respect that PHIAT is part of a residential area.
